FAQ

Where does MoneyBook take the currency symbol from?
- MoneyBook uses the currency from the iPhone region format settings. This has the advantage that the iPhone handles everything from displaying the right currency symbol at the right place to using the right separators etc.

Can I override the default currency?
- No, currently it's not possible.

Where can I find some statistics?
- Go to transaction view and turn your iPhone into landscape mode to see the statistic of this month. Or go to history and turn your phone to see the statistic overview.

I want to see the statistic of a particular month.
- You can select the desired month in the history view and then turn the phone into landscape mode.

Can I export my data and how?
- Yes, just go to the history tab - there's an export button on top right. After tapping it, you can select the months you want to export.

How do I add an income?
- Add a new transaction, then you see the view with the different categories. This view is scrollable (left and right). If you swipe your finger to the right, you'll see the categories for incomes. Select one and enter your amount.

Can I change the date of a transaction?
- Yes, if you enter a new transaction or edit an existing, there's a button on the left of the amount (in the "display"). With this button you can switch to the datepicker.

How do I add notes to a transaction?
- If you enter a new transaction or edit an existing, there's a button on the right of the amount (in the "display"). With this button you can switch to the notes-view where you can enter or edit notes.

What is the Budget mode?
- In budget mode, incomes don't affect the budget. Maybe you earn 3000$ and you want to set yourself a limit of 2000$ for every month. So this is your budget. Even if you find 200$ on the street, your budget remains 2000$.

What is the main salary?
- In contrast to the budget mode, new incomes will be added to your money. So for example you have a regular salary of 3000$, then enter this as your main salary. This means you'll have 3000$ at disposal. But if you earn another 500$ this will be added and you'll have 3500$ available.

Can you add feature xy?
- Maybe we could, but we want our app to stay simple, clean, beautiful and focused. Looking at the appstore you know there are tons of apps with complicated and unusable user interfaces, we don't want that MoneyBook becomes one of them. So we're careful with adding new stuff. This doesn't mean that we don't add new features.

Why are there no subcategories and no xyz?
- See answer above :)
